Shower Your Wet Room with Love and Attention

Perhaps the last bastion of relaxation and ‘me time’ is now reserved for when you retreat to the surroundings of your wet room.

The all-encompassing, luxuriating experience of using a wet room has seen its desirability soar in recent years as home owners seek to improve their living space and move away from the traditional bathroom layout of a shower cubicle and separate bath in favour of a more

open plan approach afforded by the wet room.

Now is a great time to start planning for the wet room you’ve dreamed about by consulting the experts and watching those plans

become reality! Knowing that your wet room has been lavished with the care, attention to detail and skilled craftsmanship that comes as standard with any Concept Interiors design only adds to the pleasure.

As Samantha Morgan, Head of Design at Concept Interiors explains, there are some essential rules to follow when creating your ideal wet room, ‘ensure that you employ the services of an experienced tradesman and professional designer to help create your perfect wet room. Also consider the use of materials such as non-porous tiles and making sure that the room is properly waterproofed prior to tiling the walls

and floor when creating your perfect wet room’

With wet rooms gaining in popularity, the value and saleability of homes with them are set to increase as prospective buyers become increasingly attracted to these wonderfully contemporary open plan spaces.

A fabulous example of contemporary design at its best is exemplified by the Fundo wet room by Wedi, a design that Samantha Morgan enthuses about, ‘I love the whole design ethos at Wedi and especially the Fundo wet room it’s so different and stylish – it’s really modern,

and oozes class'

From the initial concept to the final installation, Concept Interiors take great pride in ensuring all their clients receive a total one stop shop service when creating their perfect wet room.

With such a huge range of choices in design and fixtures it’s reassuring to know that an expert is at hand to guide you through every step

of the way.  Understanding exactly what a client wants and how to create this vision into reality is where interior designers like Samantha

Morgan excel, ‘I take great pleasure in seeing our clients wet room develop through all the stages until the process is complete. It’s that

kind of personalised service that helps create the reputation we have at Concept Interiors ; one where our clients truly know they can trust

us to deliver their perfect wet room’

The installation of underfloor heating, along with smaller details like the placement of heated towel rails and the design of the lighting all combine to create the ultimate in luxury and design making a Concept Interiors wet room a place to literally wash your cares away.

So when considering your perfect wet room it’s important to consider the following points:

1.       Always use a designer to create your room

2.       Employ experienced tradesmen to ensure you avoid problems such as leaks

3.       Ensure your tradesmen uses a quality wet room floor kit as this is designed specifically with water drainage in mind

4.       Make sure that the waste is designed to be as far away from the door as possible

5.       It is essential that the room is properly tanked (waterproofed) prior to tiling the walls

6.       Wet rooms are best fitted with wall hung sanitary ware and furniture which are perfect for streamlined wet areas

7.       Choose non-porous bathroom tiles such as ceramic or porcelain as porous tiles such as slate, marble and limestone need

sealing every few months to prevent damage

to prevent water damage

8.       Install underfloor heating in the wet room, as this ensures that the room will be dry within about half an hour

9.       Install a shower wand or handheld shower if you are having a fixed shower head to make cleaning down the room easier

10.   Keep your heated towel rail as far away from the actual shower area as possible to avoid your towels getting wet
