Advice from Survivors

Wow this adds so much perspective to life. I have survived cancer following surgery. I have been so fortunate thanks to the skill,

dedication and hard work of the team of surgeons, nurses, pathologists, radiologists and other staff. Also unknown individuals who

have taken part in research, which has provided a better understanding of cancer, it’s diagnosis and treatment. I have gained many opportunities and friendships through my experience.

Don't forget you can get free prescriptions for up to 5 years after treatment.

Aloe Vera is good for your nails, as they can become very damaged whilst having chemotherapy, obviously check with your cancer nurse before using this or any other product.

Having had various forms of cancer in my family I know how hard it can be for both the sufferer and their family.  It can be hard to talk about

your feelings for fear of upsetting those around you so you let it build up inside you. I think for this problem both the sufferers, and their

families should be given diaries to write all their worries and fears down in,instead of letting them eat at them. Then if they cant bring themselves to voice their fears to each other they can read the others diaries.
