The I Love Me Campaign - I Commit!
I Love Me is about making all women aware of the importance of breast awareness. Breast awareness simply means becoming familiar with how your breasts look and feel. Also knowing what changes to look and feel for. The campaign is designed to encourage all women to make a commitment to themselves to perform regular breast examinations.
The campaign is also designed to encourage all women over 50 to attend the NHS Breast Screening Programme. The programme provides free breast screening every three years for all women in the UK aged between 50 and 70 - the age range will change to between 47 and 73 in 2012.
I am committed to working with and helping people affected by cancer, I am also committed to promoting breast awareness and self examination. I Love Me is all about that commitment. I had my own long and difficult battle with breast cancer. I know if I had performed regular breast examinations and had been more breast aware my journey with the disease would have been a lot less painful for myself and my family.
I have worked for many years with women affected by breast cancer helping them with their journey. All the women affected by the disease that I have worked with over the years agree they also wish they had been more breast aware and carried out regular self examinations. Without question breast awareness and early detection saves lives.
As part of the I Love Me campaign I will be partnering with businesses to organise events and presentations aimed at promoting breast awareness. Making women of all ages aware of the importance of knowing their breasts and reporting any changes to their GP's.
