LONDON'S LATEST "IT" BOY JOE CAULFIELD Gets On His Bike! Joe, famous for his partying antics on the London Elite Club Scene has taken on the challenge of the Classic Oxfordshire Charity Bike Ride in aid of AGAINST BREAST CANCER. I caught up with Joe at Dolce in London to ask his reasons for taking part.
Joe said: "My Grandmother whom I was very close to died when I was aged 10 of Breast Cancer, I really wanted to help this particular Charity as they are trying to find a vaccine to prevent this illness". Joe added "I think prevention is better than cure" To sponsor Joe visit: www.justgiving.com/londonitboy The Classic Oxfordshire Charity Bike RideWe Interviewed Joe after the Big Day:
DID U ENJOY TAKING PART?
I had been out for a heavy night before, I was soooo daunted by the experience. I thought I was going to faint or only make it ten metres, but with the help of my team at Alexson pr and Michael Ross, I somehow struggled through it. It was a gorgeous day and the scenery was so picturesque. All in all a great day for a great cause!
DID YOU FIND IT DIFFICULT?
Getting on the bike was the difficult bit, I haven't trained since my football days. I have not even been to a gym in 2 and a half years, so when I started off in my gorgeous cycling shorts I was nervous, and straight away we encountered a hill which is similar to the ones you see in the Tour de France after about an hour and a half I was struggling and feeling shattered, all drink had been consumed so I had to grit my teeth and stick at it, but I really do think my Nan was urging me on from above. I seemd to get a new lease of life when Istarted to question myself and should I stop the cause the day and the memories of my grandmother helpd me through it.
WOULD YOU DO IT AGAIN?
Probably, I would do anything for charity. I will always keep Against Breast Cancer as my primary charity as now I have seen first hand what they do, and what they are trying to achieve. I wish them the best forever and am always wiling to help in whatever way possible.
DO YOU HAVE A LASTING MEMORY OF THE DAY?
I have two memories:
1. Having the group Greg and Lucy Rusedski, Michael Ross and myself all combining for a great charity. 2. The moment race finished, I put my hands in the air and I had the feeling that I had achieved something great: knowing if you try you can succeed!
