The focus is on independent boutique hotels, guest-houses, and self-catering places to stay in the UK and beyond with their own personality and character. Many are gay owned but all are enthusiastically welcoming of gay and straight guests.
The founders and owners of Furtherafield, Simon Forrester and Andrew Craven visited most of the Furtherafield places to stay in 2009 and met the owners.
