All is revealed - Calendar Girls bare all for 2010
at Harvey Nichols in Leeds to be sold in support of charity Leukaemia Research. The 2010 calendar boasts a completely
new set of 12 images of the Girls, which for the first
time are in full colour. It was the tragic loss of her husband John from non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, which inspired Angela Baker and her friends from the Rylstone WI to make the first naked calendar. The women hoped the sale of he original calendar would
raise enough money to buy a sofa for the local hospital
where John was treated. To date, the Calendar Girls have raised nearly £2million for Leukaemia Research, which is dedicated to saving lives by funding leading UK research into better treatments and cures for leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma. "Sometimes I have to pinch
myself to remember that' s my story. I feel so many
emotions, it' s hard to explain "
says Angela Baker. "John did know about the calendar and he said we
were all talk but I know he would have been so proud to know nearly £2
million has been raised The Calendar Girls could never have foreseen that 10 years on they would have raised so much money to help save lives
and spare other families the pain of losing a loved one."
