Poems & Positive Verse
If It didn't rain sometimes
How could we ever appreciate the
sun...

I’ve had some time
Life put on pause
At first afraid
To look through doors
Some new ones opened
Old ones closed
But which path now
Do you suppose?
Some time to think
Review my past
Must make some changes
Pretty fast
Two frantic months
Of misbelief
But now it’s gone I sigh relief
What happened there?
And yes, why me?
I’m lucky though
That much I see
No tattooed X
No loss of hair
Still can’t believe
That I’ve been there
And yet…………
I’ve learned I’m loved
Friends old and new
To all out there
I love you too
Your faith and words
They calmed my fears
The strength of them
Brought happy tears
I thank you all
For all you’ve done
The cards the gifts
The hugs and fun
I felt the vibes
You sent to me
They worked you know
Just look and see!!!
So let’s all hope
That next year’s flaws
Will end as well
As my life on pause
Please promise me
One small thing more
Don’t be afraid
To open doors
Love always Ruthie XXX

Whenever two ways lie before us,
One of which is easy and the other hard,
One of which requires no exertion
while the other calls for resolution and endurance,
Happy are those who choose the Mountain Path
and scorn the thought of resting in the valley.
These are the men and women who are destined in the end
to Conquer and succeed.

All women can grow up to blossom during their lives,
some ladies are the same and can link,
But some have more strength, power and drive,
and are totally and uniquely supporting pink.

Courage consists not in blindly overlooking danger,
but seeing it and conquering it.

An
Angel in Heaven
Angels are in Heaven watching over us
they are special to us in so many ways
they are there when we need them
we have only to look up to heaven and pray
that the angels will come down to us some day
For when we need them most they are always with us
in the mornings, during the night,
during the day
and that for me is heaven in every way.

You were there waiting for me
You were there waiting for me of which I couldn't' read the signs
I knew just one day that we might meet
In a street or walking up a hill
You never know where our Paths would cross
I thought of you each day soaking up the sun
But I never thought you would have gone
I wonder no-one knew the reason why
Why did you leave so soon for that heaven in the sky
I bid you farewell and hope you find peace
and sleep well my friend until one day we meet

The Silent Butterfly
Fresh from the chrysalis she dances, the symmetrical beauty
flutters vibrantly on the generous breeze. Her energy vibrates on
the tips of the antennae as her aria is heard throughout the lush garden.
The moth awakens and follows loyally, her hypnotic dance. A sweet solo is
sent to seduce her; violins simper to penetrate her senses, classy clarinets
enchant her, percussion beats boldly as he clasps her fragile form. The
tempo quickens as light fragments through her once perfect wings, creating
rainbow spears as they bounce from the grass.
The symphony is stifling as the cacophony reaches a crescendo.
His gong resonating ebbs away her delicate wings;
the threadbare gliders diminish into dust.
The butterfly limps back to her chrysalis, her symmetrical beauty swallowed
up by the ravenous breeze. Her energy lost on the twisted antennae, as her
silence echoes through the treacherous garden.

Once upon a time on an autumn day,
Between the sheets of leaves,
around the roots Of great trees,
a girl laid - who'd lost her foot
When clambering across the wide branches
That became so notoriously thin―
Slipped landing among the bed-like daisies
Which, once white and pure, coloured blushing red.
Among the reeds, sitting with the bawling ducks,
Another had seen her fall from the skies,
And in excitement he gathered a bunch
Of weeds, and leaves, as a beautiful gift.
He flew to her, welcoming her to Earth.
Her entrance seemed quick, and she stayed so still,
But a day like this was no time to sleep.
As the sun glimmered and glistened down low,
Reaching it's long arms across the meadows
And touching all with that certain warmness
That keeps young fishers by the bank,
Exploring without rods its murky depth,
He reached the angel, but she'd lost her wings.
Her ungraceful limbs splayed out in strange ways.
He shook her, lifted her, carried her home.
And in his garden he laid her out straight,
She'd gone. Angels have no place in this world.

Now that Spring has arrived and the sun is now shining
The temperature is higher, the mackerel are running
The tumbler goes off, the clothes are on the line
The clouds are gone, the sky is fine
The birds are singing, the insects are buzzing
The grass needs cutting, the fence needs painting
The conservatory needs varnish
The garden needs tending
God I hate Spring!!!!!!!
